General
“Protected mode” is a feature that allows customers and end users to filter unwanted or disallowed credentials, at ease, keeping all the advanced features in a single product.
Protected mode is backed up by advanced filtering mechanism implemented both on the tag and the reader.
In fact, Rosslare provide the customer with both the readers and the tags that are matched to work together, and only together. Cards that are not preprogrammed will not be visible to the system and it will not only increase on site security, but also improve system usability creating less noise to the panel and events delivered to the software. Only approved credentials will be delivered.
Way of operation
When the reader reads the UHF credential, it checks first whether the tag belongs to his group of approved credentials, and only if it detects that the tag is appropriate, it transmits the ID data to the control panel over the Wiegand or OSDP protocols.
In any other case, the reader does not transmit the identification of the tag to the panel and doesn’t overload the controller with irrelevant card information, thereby reducing the traffic to the controller and the unneeded information in the logs of the software.
Purchasing guide
“Protected mode” is a set of reader and appropriate credentials that are preconfigured at the factory as a part of production process. Therefore once customer is interested to implement the “Protected mode” feature and to get a preconfigured product, it should be mentioned clearly while placing an order.
During the order, a two characters code will be set for the customer to define the particular request/project, customer shall keep that code and mention on next order if there’s a need to purchase more readers or
credentials for that specific project. Each project that use different preconfigured readers will have his own code per customer.
