What is Wiegand protocol?
Wiegand is a proprietary information coding format used for encoding access cards, key tags, proximity readers, and other access control related products and devices. This is the most common protocol today to deliver credentials from a reader to an Access Control Panel.
The maximum distance between a control panel to a reader is 150 meters.
