Using Gmail SMTP server for AxTraxPro/AxTraxNG mail notification

In AxTraxNG and AxTraxPro  SMTP support for email notification is supported. Using a Gmail account as your SMTP server requires an application password to override 2FA.

Pre-requirements: 

Follow the steps in this document to configure the Application password:

1.  Go to the following link and login to your Gmail account and create an app password https://myaccount.google.com/apppasswords

2.  Set the App name:


3. Click Create:

4. Copy the password.
5. Click Done, 

Setting on AxTraxPro:

  1. On AxTraxPro Client click on Tools, Notification Settings:
  2. Use the following settings:

    ·      Host: smtp.googlemail.com

    ·      Port: 587

    ·      User Name: Your email address (xxxx@gmail.com)

    ·      Password: The app password created in the first section. 

    ·      Require SSL: Selected

  3.  Once set up, click the Email Validation button and wait a few seconds,

Setting on AxTraxNG


1.         In the AxTraxNG Server Monitor, select the Options topic:

2.         Use the following settings:

·      Host: smtp.googlemail.com

·      Port: 587

·      User Name: Your email address (xxxx@gmail.com)

·      Password: The app password created in the first section. 

·      Require SSL: Selected

.         Once set up, click the Email Validation button and wait a few moments.

         Upon successful connection, your screen should look like:
